The property is enviably situated and easy to find in the Sureda d’en Mairo district, on top of a mountain which rises from the center of Roses. The district is named Sureda d’en Mairo for all the cork trees growing in the area.
The house is a fantastic example of Spanish architecture of the 1970’s when the house was built. The well-known Swiss chef and businessman, for whom it was originally constructed, while competing with his friend and neighbor, strove to build the biggest and best house of the area and thus no expense was spared.
The property was acquired in 1980 and has remained in the family ever since. The house has undergone extensive modernization, renovation, restoration and upgrading during the last 6 years. Most of the interior has been remodeled to make the most of the fabulous views and augment the flow of natural light throughout the house.
